Trust Your Intuition

Something just didn't feel right

She couldn't put her finger on exactly why

She just knew

They were hiding something

And she could sense it

Felt it deep in her soul

A hollow empty feeling

It just didn't align

Made her gut churn

She knew this path was not for her

Yet could not explain it to others

She stopped, paused, waited

To see if it would pass

But it persisted, this feeling

This little voice inside her

It was a knowing

Instinct perhaps

And everything inside her

Told her, No, not this way

So she moved away

And took another path

What is Intuition?

The Cambridge Dictionary describes intuition as:

“...an ability to understand or know something immediately based on your feelings rather than facts...”

So, what exactly does that mean?

Intuition is that inner voice that guides you to make the decision that is right for you, rather than the “right decision”, which may be based on someone else’s ideas.

It’s that hunch, that feeling, that “knowing” that helps you decide what course to take or what to choose. It can be hard to define, but just stop and think about a time you made a decision that seemed like a risk at the time and later turned out to be much more beneficial to you than the safer or less trodden path.

Intuition has nothing to do with analytical thinking – it is based more on emotion and feeling. You just “know”, right?

Yet, how often do we really trust our intuition?

I find myself trusting it more and more in these crazy times in which we live.

If something does not feel right, or sit well with me, I stop and look at it - and then decide.

More times than not, my intuition has guided me to make the right decision for me - not anyone else, and many times, in hindsight, it has guided me well.

Do you trust your intuition?

Do you follow your hunch?

Next time you need to make a decision, ask your intuition for guidance - feel it in your gut - take the time to really feel if this path is right for you, not anyone else, just you.

Then walk your walk......
